High Blood Pressure Medication And Swollen Feet
A huge percentage of men and women are suffering from hypertension these days. Hypertension or high blood pressure is a medical condition where the blood pressure of the patient is elevated chronically.The heart is the central pumping station of the body and when the blood is pumped via the arteries by the heart, the pressure that is exerted by the blood on the walls of the arteries is called the blood pressure of that person generally a person who has a systolic blood pressure of 140 mmHg or more and a diastolic blood pressure of 90 mmHg or more is said to suffer from hypertension. - Binging on alcohol; a little amount of alcohol may be good for the heart but a huge dosage taken everyday may cause the patients to develop hypertension.
- Obesity: obese people have a higher chance of developing a high blood pressure condition than most other normal people
- Lack of exercise: a little bit of exercise can prove to be very effective, if you want to take preventive measures against this disease, it has been seen that people who exercise regularly have the least chance of being hypertensive.
The best possible way to save oneself from the negative effects of high blood pressure is to lead a healthy life and avoid smoking, excessive drinking and binging on junk food.
There are no definite signs and symptoms for high blood pressure, most people who provide symptoms for high blood pressure are telling a far fetched lie. Hypertension is called the “silent killer” because of the fact that kills slowly. Sometimes due to high blood pressure the patients may develop certain associated conditions which cause the person to die eventually.
Usually the walls of the arteries are highly flexible, but as we grow old the walls become rigid and they get reduced in diameter as well, this cause the blood pressure to rise to a very high degree. There different effects of high blood pressure, although the symptoms of high blood pressure are common to various other diseases, the most common symptom include nausea, dizziness, fainting, swelling of feet and abdomen, cyanosis of lips and skin.
There are various changes in lifestyle that can be brought in to lower the blood pressure; these include maintaining a healthy diet, having the perfect height: weight ratio, exercising regularly etc.
